Safari Overview
This Kenya safari package isn’t just wildlife viewing, it’s wildlife immersion meets active adventure meets conservation history. Five days exploring three completely different ecosystems: the legendary Masai Mara where the Big Five roam, and the Great Migration river crossings stop your heart (July-October), Lake Naivasha for cycling past giraffes in Hell’s Gate National Park and boat safaris with hippos, and Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where you’ll stand before the planet’s last two northern white rhinos.
This luxury safari Kenya delivers what cookie-cutter tours can’t: private 4×4 vehicle, premium lodges and tented camps, hands-on adventure activities, and the privilege of meeting Najin and Fatu, mother and daughter northern white rhinos whose species teeters on extinction’s edge. You’ll also visit Kenya’s only chimpanzee sanctuary and track Africa’s highest density of endangered black rhinos. Every day brings something extraordinary: predator encounters in the Mara, cycling through volcanic gorges at Hell’s Gate, gliding across flamingo-painted waters by boat, and walking beside the world’s most protected animals.
This Masai Mara safari combination with Naivasha and Ol Pejeta creates Kenya’s most diverse five-day experience—maximum wildlife, active adventures, conservation encounters, and luxury throughout. It’s the safari that has everything.

Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara | Great Migration & Big Five Territory
Your luxury Kenya safari begins with morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel in your private 4×4 Land Cruiser. The 5-6 hour journey southwest descends into the Great Rift Valley—stop at the famous viewpoint where volcanic peaks frame the valley floor. Continue through Maasai pastoralist lands to the legendary Masai Mara, arriving at your luxury tented camp for lunch.
After settling into canvas elegance with four-poster beds and private verandas, embark on your first afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara safari experience delivers immediately: massive elephant herds, lions lounging in acacia shade, cheetahs perched on termite mounds scanning for prey, and the Mara River where Nile crocodiles lurk year-round. If visiting July-October, position yourself for the Great Migration—over 1.5 million wildebeest massing before plunging into crocodile-infested waters. Return to camp as the African sunset paints the plains copper and rose, sundowners in hand.
Accommodation: Luxury tented camp | Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Highlights: Great Migration crossings (Jul-Oct) · Big Five game viewing · Mara River · Private 4×4 vehicle
Day 2: Masai Mara Full Day | Big Cats & Migration Spectacle
Rise before dawn for early morning game drives when predators are most active, lions returning from night hunts, leopards descending from trees, cheetahs stalking Thomson’s gazelles across golden grasslands. The Mara hosts Kenya’s highest big cat densities, and your experienced guide positions you for intimate encounters that group safaris cannot achieve.
Spend the full day exploring this 1,510 km² ecosystem with morning and afternoon drives. Track all Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, rare black rhinos), encounter hundreds of bird species, and if visiting migration season, witness nature’s greatest wildlife spectacle. Optional hot air balloon safari at dawn ($450pp) floats you silently over the plains as wildlife wakes below, followed by champagne breakfast in the bush. Or visit a Maasai village ($30pp) to learn about warrior traditions and beadwork culture. Between drives, return to your luxury camp for leisurely lunch and perhaps a swim. The Mara’s vast horizons and incredible wildlife density justify spending two full days here—it’s Africa’s most famous reserve for excellent reason.
Accommodation: Luxury tented camp | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Highlights: Dawn predator tracking · Full-day wildlife immersion · Optional balloon safari · Maasai cultural visit
Day 3: Mara – Lake Naivasha | Hell's Gate Cycling & Boat Safari Adventure
After a final Mara sunrise game drive and breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, approximately 4-5 hours through the Rift Valley’s scenic highlands. Arrive at your luxury lakeside lodge for lunch with views across the freshwater lake toward volcanic peaks. Now the adventure begins.
This afternoon, visit Hell’s Gate National Park, one of Kenya’s only parks where you can safely explore on foot or bicycle. Rent mountain bikes and cycle through dramatic red rock gorges past zebras, giraffes, gazelles, and buffalo grazing peacefully. The dramatic scenery inspired Disney’s Lion King landscapes. Hike into Hell’s Gate Gorge with its narrow passages and towering cliff walls, passing geothermal steam vents. This is active Kenya safari package at its finest—wildlife encounters powered by your own legs. Alternatively, choose a Lake Naivasha boat safari gliding across calm waters approaching hippo pods (habituated and relatively safe from water), watching fish eagles swoop for prey, spotting African jacanas walking on lily pads. Or take a boat to Crescent Island for a walking safari among giraffes, waterbuck, zebras, and wildebeest—no predators means intimate wildlife encounters on foot. Return to your lakeside lodge for dinner under stars with colobus monkeys calling from treetops.
Accommodation: Luxury lakeside lodge | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Highlights: Hell’s Gate cycling/hiking · Boat safari with hippos · Crescent Island walking · 400+ bird species
Day 4: Naivasha – Ol Pejeta | Last 2 Northern White Rhinos & Chimpanzees
After breakfast with lakeside views, depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy—approximately 3 hours north through Kenya’s fertile highlands with Mount Kenya looming on the eastern horizon. This 90,000-acre private conservancy represents Kenya conservation at its finest. Arrive at your luxury lodge for lunch, then the afternoon game drive that changes everything.
Meet Najin and Fatu, mother and daughter—the only surviving northern white rhinos after the species’ last male, Sudan, died in 2018. They live under 24-hour armed guard, representing humanity’s last desperate attempt to save a species from extinction through IVF technology. Standing in their presence is standing at extinction’s edge itself. This encounter alone justifies the entire luxury safari Kenya journey. Ol Pejeta also protects over 140 eastern black rhinos—East Africa’s highest density. Track both black and white rhinos across the conservancy learning about translocation programs and anti-poaching efforts. Visit Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Kenya’s only chimp sanctuary, home to rescued chimps from across Africa who cannot return to the wild. Watch these intelligent primates play and interact in their protected riverside habitat. Beyond conservation superstars, Ol Pejeta hosts healthy Big Five populations—one of the few places in Kenya where you can reliably see all five in a single drive. Return to your lodge as the sun sets behind Mount Kenya’s jagged peaks, perhaps spotting elephants at the lodge waterhole.
Accommodation: Luxury conservancy lodge | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Highlights: Last 2 northern white rhinos · Black rhino sanctuary · Chimpanzee encounters · Big Five viewing
Day 5: Ol Pejeta – Nairobi | Final Conservation Encounters
Rise early for a final game drive through Ol Pejeta—your last chance to see the northern white rhinos in soft morning light, track black rhinos through the bush, or watch chimpanzees waking at Sweetwaters. Early hours offer the best wildlife activity and photography light, especially with Mount Kenya’s snow-capped peaks glowing pink at dawn.
Return to the lodge for leisurely breakfast, perhaps watching elephants or buffalo at the waterhole. Check out and begin the scenic 3-4 hour drive back to Nairobi, arriving by early afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. You came seeking a Kenya safari package. You found something infinitely more valuable—memories of the Great Migration, the thrill of cycling past giraffes, the splash of hippos beside your boat, and the profound privilege of standing beside the last two northern white rhinos on Earth.
